DJ Rich Smol aka Technokrat! aka Rich Smolenski is making his mark on the Sheffield breakbeat scene, infiltrating the deep pockets of Techno & Breakbeat shakers to bring a professional sound that fortifies old skool funk with nu-Skool, acid and bass heavy breaks. Sprinkle in a dash of techno and you'll find yourself frenetically shaking. After teaching himself the guitar & bass guitar to an extraordinary high standard within just a few small years its no surprise that this guy can really punch above his weight on the 1's and 2's - one of the reasons why Endless Promotions www.myspace.com/endlesspromotions were so keen to bottle this talent and spray it sparingly over those that bounce to the infectious beats at his live sets. An ideal vibe for clubs and bars of any size as can be seen by the places Technokrat romps at, with successful sets in and around Sheffield at DQ, Stufft Olives (Fusion & Foundry), Sunday sessions (Pheonix Bar, Hallam Uni) even a USC Promotional day (shop window mayhem!).

A monthly residency at DQ's infamous Free parties saw the local student atmosphere transformed into something of a well cooked mash-up of swinging legs and arms cementing an extra item on the Sheffield entertainment pallet for many clubbing regulars. Expect forward thinking breakbeat with legs-akimbo techno.

Rich is also the co-founder of Avenir DJ Promotions ( who provide a 'club night in a box' experience covering flyer design, t-shirt printing, venue dressing and a large roster of DJ talent from Sheffield to Canada! In August 2009 Rich successfully launched the 'Alphabet' parties at The Venue in Stocksbridge spreading the established Alphabet sound to outside the Sheffield city limits. Alphabet hold monthly parties with top DJ talent such as Ben Topliss (Neonfeedback DJs & co-founder of Avenir Promotions), Paul Growns (Detune), Chris Moore (BIO), Kickflip (FAT records), Leuce Rhythms plus lots more. This promises to be an expanding brand.
